Last week of the sewalong! Which means we're finishing up our quilt tops! Here's how my quilt top turned out! I challenged myself to use only fabric from my stash and, happy to say, I succeeded! Background included!
Typically a patriotic quilt would be in a red, white, and blue color scheme, so it was also a fun challenge to use a neutral color scheme instead. I'll be using this Diamond Textiles yarn dyed woven fabric that I got from Fabric Bubb for the backing. The color matches so well with the blue in the quilt top and I am SO excited about the texture it'll give to the quilt also! Now to just figure out the panto!
Did you miss last week's newsletter that included a free mini FPP Firecracker block pattern? No fear! I've included it in this week's newsletter as well :) Just click on the red button below to automatically save the file to your device.
Make sure to print the pattern at 100% or "Do Not Scale" (double check that the 1" test square measures EXACTLY 1" square) and if you're new to paper piecing you might find my tutorial that's save to my highlights on Instagram helpful. You can watch that HERE!
After Week 5 wraps up I'll be picking a grand prize winner of the sewalong! The grand prize will include...
Fat quarter bungle of Liana and Flurry charm square pack from Ruby Star Society
Patterns, fabric, and Diagonal Seam Guide tape from Cluck Cluck Sew
And don't forget, Knot & Thread is offering 20% off longarm services to all Firecracker Sewalong participants! An awesome deal you don't want to pass up!
To enter, make sure to post a photo of your finished quilt top to Instragram and use the hashtag #FirecrackerSewalong in your caption! A winner will be chosen on June 1st!
