Stay Sharp was inspired by my favorite sewing notion (if we're not including glue tips 😉), AKA scissors! Specifically, the teeny tiny ones😍✂️
Printed and PDF copies of the Stay Sharp pattern are available HERE! Save 15% on the pattern + all other items on my site through Valentine's Day when you use the discount code STAYSHARP15.
Included in this blog post are pattern information, photos of my mom's Stay Sharp quilt, a link to a printable coloring page, and Kona mock ups with a list of the solids used in each one!
Stay Sharp includes instructions for making four different scissor blocks. Each block measures 9 1/2" x 14 1/2" finished. A great size for pillows, mini quilts, tote bags, and more! Like usual, there are detailed block diagrams, illustrations, and instructions included in the pattern - Along with tags for labeling your cuts of fabric!
Kits for the cover version of Stay Sharp are available from Sewtopia HERE!
Download a printable coloring page for the pattern HERE! A coloring page is also included in both the PDF and printed copy of the pattern!
I'll be sharing photos of the second Stay Sharp quilt I made soon, but in the meantime, here are pics of my mom's, @gailzerbe, Stay Sharp quilt!
My mom was inspired by one of my mock ups (pictured below) when pulling fabric for her quilt. She opted for a low volume print for the background fabric and Kona solids for her scissor blocks.
I love how the patchwork sections of the block are subtle, but still present. The scissor blocks pop even more that way!
And here is the mock up that inspired my mom's quilt!
Colors 1 - 5 = Pickle, Cedar, OD Green, Cinnamon, and Sassy Pink
Color 6 = Haze
Color 7 = Ivory
Color 8 = Shale
Background = Doeskin
And if you prefer making your Stay Sharp quilt in prints, you can use the solid mock ups as a jumping off point like I did for my Snap Happy quilt HERE!
I also regularly pin color palettes I love on Pinterest HERE! Many of which I use when mocking up my quilts! If you're not feeling inspired by the color palettes above, I recommend checking out my Color Inspo Pinterest board!
