Grizzly Grove is a traditionally pieced pattern that can be made in two sizes - Crib (36 1/2" square) and Throw (60 1/2" x 72 1/2"). All of the mock ups below, besides one, are in the 5-colorway throw size, but the pattern also includes instructions for subbing out the five colors for 15 fat quarters. An example of how the fat quarter-friendly version is at the very end of this post!

An example of Grizzly Grove made with 15 fat quarters! I'm doing a giveaway for this kit on Instagram! To make this version (Or any of the mock ups with Kona Snow as the background), you'll need to...

- Cut (15) W pieces from your Color 6 solid for the tree trunks in the Tree blocks.

- Cut (15) fewer W pieces from your Color 7 solid. Instead of cutting (75) W pieces, cut (60).

In this version, both Color 7 and Color 8 are Kona Snow. This means:

- The cornerstone (W) pieces in the Tree blocks will match the background fabric.

- The Bear’s nose section (T, V, and U pieces) will also be the same color as the background fabric in those blocks.

I love all the variations shown! I always want to recolor quilts, but worry they won’t look like I imagine! Thank you.
