I decided to go the super simple, single-block based design route with this quilt pattern. Mainly because after designing more complicated quilts the last two years I had a strong desire to make my next quilt pattern super straightforward and easier to sew. Give everyone, including myself, a break from those intermediate style patterns. I also kept this design simple so makers had more of an opportunity to show off their favorite prints. They saw everything BUT thimbles when looking at it 😅 (If you're looking for a gumdrop or salt and pepper shaker pattern, look no further!). I'm telling myself that the sewists and quilters will get it...Right?! 😆Thimbles is a traditionally pieced quilt that can be made in a 6-colorway throw or a scrappy throw using 15 fat quarters. Both throw sizes finish 57 1/2" x 72 1/2". Each Thimble block in the quilt measures 8" x 8 3/4".You might be wondering how those slightly angled left and right sides of the Thimble block are constructed and, don't worry, it's not as difficult as it looks. The pattern also includes a foundation paper piecing (FPP) pattern for making a mini Thimble block! The mini version of the Thimble block finishes 5" x 5 1/2".The Thimbles cover quilt was quilted by CoCo Quilt Co using the A Notion to Sew pantograph. A closer look at the quilting is below! Emilie did such an amazing job on it! 😍
